Description
Join us for an evening of live music on the scenic Manistee River! The Roots on the River concert series will feature incredible regional talent on Thursdays throughout July and August. We are extremely excited for this year, as the Manistee Jaycees have passed the torch to new nonprofit, Music Sparks Meaning, to continue the longstanding series for many more years! - Cole Hansen is a singer/songwriter and vocal powerhouse from Grand Rapids, MI. Cole was brought up on a strange mix of gospel, classic country, musical theatre, car show oldies, and obscure rock. Folk Rock? Prog Folk? Call it what you want. Cole prides herself on being a versatile artist with eclectic tastes. As a music student, Cole performed with many different Michigan groups including the Award-winning Shades of Blue Jazz Ensemble, the Grand Rapids Symphony Chorus, and a 6-piece Madrigal chorus. Following music school, Cole performed with Indie Rock band Drawing Monsters and later with Award-winning Atmospheric Americana band Bello Spark. Since 2017, Cole has been featured in productions at Grand Rapids Civic Theatre, Circle Theater, and DeVos Performance Hall (Turandot, Opera GR). Cole has released 2 full length albums of original music, with a third in the works! Her newest album, “Vote for Love” is all about letting go of labels and limiting beliefs, and learning to love yourself no matter where you’re at in life. With music as a means, Cole is committed to helping others become more mindful and less anxious by spreading love, light, and positivity, and quieting the jerk inside your head.
