DESCRIPTION:This dune hike\, lead by Dennis Albert\, is a unique opportunity to learn about Michigan sand dunes from an expert. Dennis Albert was the Michigan Natural Resources Inventory (MNFI) Ecology Program Lead from 1987 until 2004\, until moving to Oregon where he is currently research faculty in the Department of Horticulture at Oregon State University. He is the author for several books\, including Borne of the Wind: an introduction to Michigan?s sand dunes and has done extensive field surveys in Michigan resulting in the acquisition and protection of over thirty miles of Great Lakes shoreline.
